TIPA 2021 Awards

Angelo State University’s communication and mass media programs earned four awards for their work on campus media and in live competition at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association’s 2022 TIPA Convention held March 23-26 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ram Page staff members Aaron McGuire, Arabella Peña, Brittney Jackson and Mbulelo Maqungo traveled to Fort Worth on behalf of the entire 13-member student newspaper.

The Ram Page brought home awards in the following categories:


In LIVE competition:

• Sophomore Copy Editor Aaron McGuire: Honorable Mention in Live Copy Editing.

In the SUBMITTED WORK competition:

• Junior Photographer, Brandon Arenas: Honorable Mention in the Division 3 Photo Story category.

• Junior Photo Editor, Madison Wallace: 3rd place in the Division 3 General News Photo category & 2nd in the Photo Story category.

The ASU students competed against students from other colleges and universities throughout Texas in contests judged by out-of-state media professionals.
